What data we collect and why

When you visit our website

Our website is hosted on Squarespace, which automatically collects basic analytics data such as pages visited, time spent on the site, browser type, and approximate location (country/region). This helps us understand how people use the site so we can improve it. This data is anonymised and does not identify you personally.

Legal basis: Legitimate interests (improving our website and services).

When you sign up to our newsletter

If you subscribe via our Substack sign-up form, we collect your email address. This is used to send you our newsletter and updates about events and offerings.

Substack processes this data on our behalf. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of any email, or by contacting us directly.

Legal basis: Consent (you actively sign up).

When you book an event

When you purchase tickets through Eventbrite, Eventbrite collects your personal data (name, email, payment details) directly. We may receive your name and email as the event organiser so we can manage attendance.

Eventbrite is the data controller for information collected through their platform. Please refer to Eventbrite's Privacy Policy for full details.

Legal basis: Contract (to fulfil your booking).

When you contact us via Instagram

If you message us through Instagram, your message and profile information are subject to Meta's Privacy Policy. We only use the information you send us to respond to your enquiry.

Legal basis: Legitimate interests (responding to enquiries).

Embedded content

Our website may include embedded YouTube videos. When you watch a video, YouTube (Google) may collect data about you, including via cookies, even if you don't have a Google account. Please refer to Google's Privacy Policy for more information.

Cookies

Our website uses cookies. These are small files placed on your device that help the site function and allow us to understand how it is used.

We use:

  • Essential cookies — needed for the website to work

  • Analytics cookies — via Squarespace, to understand site usage (anonymised)

When you first visit our site, you will be asked to accept or decline non-essential cookies. You can change your preferences at any time via your browser settings.

How long we keep your data

  • Newsletter subscribers: Until you unsubscribe

  • Event booking data: As long as reasonably necessary for our records, and in line with Eventbrite's retention policies

  • Website analytics: As per Squarespace's data retention policy (anonymised)
